Ground Stone Farm is hiring for the 2021 season! We are looking for part and full time positions. The full season starts in starts April and wraps up in mid-November with some work opportunities throughout the year. This year, since we are building a new farm there is work opportunities in Jan - March although only a day or two a week. Only serious applicants need apply, we won't respond to emails without a resume and 2 professional references. 

The ideal person has:
  • experience working on a small farms
  • stamina and self drive and discipline
  • the ability to work outside in the elements, ie 50-60 degree temperature swings and sometimes very low humidity
  • a real eye for detail 
  • ability to accept feedback and adapt accordingly
  • comfortable enough working along and with a team of people
  • ​ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
  • an eagerness & willingness to learn
  • ability to lift 50 pounds, spend most of the work day bending over, squatting, crawling, lifting, walking, etc.
  • problem solving skills and an aptitude for thinking on one’s toes 
  • the ability to laugh at oneself 
  • seriousness about work efficiency and taking care of ones physical and emotional body
  • a positive attitude
  • tolerance for farm dogs
  • an interest in small scale, human powered, environmentally conscious vegetable farming.

Job responsibilities include
  • ​harvesting
  • field work ie weeding, transplanting, moving around irrigation.
  • wash and pack of produce
Starting pay with be determined on experience

The job would perfect for someone who lives close to Pojoaque/Nambe area or in Santa Fe or Española. Housing is not included; however there may be the option to park a camper if the situation is right. Benefits include as much organic produce as you can eat within reason, the opportunity to learn how to farm on raw land with minimal water in Northern New Mexico, the opportunity to grow with the job and take on more responsibilities and pay raises if/when appropriate, good company and great conversations, the ability to work with the land and feel the sun on your back and your hands in the dirt.
